Visottica presents its new WA at Silmo 2014.
WA is a family of flexible hinges that enhances and completes the wide range of products supplied to the market by Visottica. WA is designed for application on all frames in materials such as Wood, Aluminum, Titanium, Carbon, etc. where the usual immersion and soldering operations are not possible.
WA is a 3.00mm and 4.50mm wide flex hinge and both sizes are available in versions for glue or screw fixing. One of the main features of the WA family of hinges is that it integrates perfectly with the temples so that the design of the spectacles remains unaltered and can be laser customized if required.
One of WA’s most important technical characteristics is a new highly effective anti-rocking system between the end piece and frame front. This new system allows ±0.5° play with the temples open or closed.
The few operations needed on the spectacles make WA extremely versatile and simple to work with.

Bending: 30 cycles at ±15°; pulling resistance: 250 N; extra opening force: 50N; Opening closing test: 40,000 cycles.
