The Veneto-based group, a leading manufacturer of eyewear components, rises to 83.8% for the two specialised companies in the Belluno district With this transaction, Visottica Comotec empowers its production hub, unique in the world in terms of capacity and technology.
Susegana (Treviso), November 2021 – Visottica Comotec, a company based in the Veneto region and world leader in the production of eyewear components, has completed the acquisition of the majority stake of Ookii, a company specialising in precision micromechanics, with headquarters in the Belluno eyewear district.
Visottica Comotec rises from 50% – which it has held since 2017 – to 83.8% of the Ookii shares and acquires a majority stake in Matrix (of which Ookii holds 100% of the capital), a leading company in the production of MIM (Metal Injection Molding) and microfusion components.
Established in 1994, Ookii (with headquarters in Seren del Grappa, Belluno) specialises in the production of moulds and small metal parts using all techniques, operating mainly in the eyewear and precision engineering sectors. Among the main processes: cold moulding, die-casting of zamak, aluminium and magnesium, and moulding of plastic materials. Matrix is at the forefront in the production of items using MIM technology, an innovative moulding process applied in many sectors, from biomedical to automotive, from fashion to aerospace, and also in the production of components for almost all industrial realities.
After acquiring 50% of Eurodecori, a company based Belluno specialising in the production and processing of zamak parts, in recent months, even this operation is part of a growth process commenced in recent years. Through a policy of strategic acquisitions, Visottica Comotec has progressively expanded the Group’s offerings, creating a technological hub of the highest level and unique in the world in terms of capacity and technology.

The agreement between the two companies provides for the acquisition by Visottica of 100% of the Ookii shares in 2024.
